Dr. Ramdas completed his MBBS from J N Medical College, Belgaum in 1971. He has been practicing as a family physician since then at Ramdas Hospital and Nursing Home, an establishment started by his late father Dr. M S Nair. He has been instrumental in taking the hospital forward along with his brothers Dr. S Mohandas, Mr. S Krishnanunni, and Mr. S Haridas, from a small 20 bedded hospital to the150 bedded institution it is now.

He is a very popular doctor with nearly 50 years of clinical experience and has a keen interest in medical education. He updates his medical knowledge continuously by regularly participating in various medical conferences and education programs. He has a special interest in the management of  Diabetes Mellitus. 

He is a member of many societies like Indian Critical Care society, RSSDI, Lions club of Perinthalmanna, Probus club. He is a senior member of IMA and has been the past President. He has been the recipient of various awards like Best Family Physician award from Kerala state IMA, Pillar of Secularism award from The Muslim Education Society, Altruistic award 2016 from Indian Senior Chamber Perinthalmanna Legion.
